Deputies investigate Dollar General burglary

The Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department needs the public’s help identifying the individual who allegedly broke into the Dollar General, located at 1842 MS Highway 12 in Weir.

According to a release on the Sheriff’s app, the department responded to a burglary alarm Monday at Dollar General.

County and town meeting dates changed

All county and municipal meetings have been moved because of the July 4 holiday, either in anticipation of the July 4 holiday or because the holiday falls on a Tuesday this year.

The Choctaw County Board of Supervisors meeting will be held on July 5 if Governor Tate Reeves closes state offices on July 3.
