1. What is your circulation?

Our circulation:

The Winston County Journal has a paid circulation of around 3,000. In addition to the newspaper’s subscribers, The Winston County Journal (as an added benefit to its advertisers) offers all advertisements are placed on its website and promoted through its social media channels. 

The Webster Progress-Times has a paid circulation of 2,700. In addition to the newspaper’s subscribers, The Webster Progress-Times (as an added benefit to its advertisers) offers all advertisements are placed on its website and promoted through its social media channels.

The Choctaw Plaindealer has a paid circulation of 1,700. In addition to the newspaper’s subscribers, The Choctaw Plaindealer  (as an added benefit to its advertisers) offers all advertisements are placed on its website and promoted through its social media channels. 

Reach over  90,000* Readership a Month by making one buy into three markets. Our reach includes our social media, web postings and e-editions. 

*7,000 weekly circulation with all three newspapers. Readers calculated at 2.2 per copy with 4.3 weeks each month. Plus 2200 e-editions emailed out monthly plus 9,000 website readers monthly, 9,500 Facebook followers, 4,500 Twitter followers.

All three of our publications are delivered by the U.S. Postal Service and is also available in stores and news racks throughout the area.

2. How often do you publish?

Our newspapers are published on Wednesdays.

3. What is your coverage area?

The Winston County Journal serves Winston County with news, upcoming events, sports and all the happenings in our community each Wednesday. As the only newspaper in Winston County, we take pride in serving the area since 1892.

The Webster Progress-Times serves Webster County with news, upcoming events, sports and all the happenings in our community each Wednesday. As the only newspaper in Webster County, we take pride in serving the area since 1926. 

The Choctaw Plaindealer serves Choctaw County with news, upcoming events, sports and all the happenings in our community each Wednesday. As the only newspaper in Choctaw County, we take pride in having served the area since 1886.

4. How do I submit a news or sports item?

Submit news items to newsroom@winstoncountyjournal.com.

You may also visit our offices at  at 233 North Court, Louisville, MS or 48 North Louisville Street, Ackerman, MS or 58 North Dunn, Eupora, MS 39744. 

When submitting photos for publication, please attach them in jpeg format at the highest possible resolution. Please identify everyone in the photos.

We actively seek engagement announcements, weddings, awards and achievements, school news, letters to the editor or anything relevant to our community. We are a community newspaper, and we want to keep our readers informed about anything going on in our counties or news about Winston, Choctaw and Webster citizens and former citizens. Our staff writers also welcome news tips.

5. How do I place an ad in your newspaper?

Just call one of our advertising representatives at 662-773-6241 or 662-258-7532 or send an email to newsroom@winstoncountyjournal.com. Tell us what you want and our production staff will quickly design an advertisement that fits your needs. There is no charge for ad design and composition.

6. What’s the cost to advertise?

We have numerous ways that fit any budget to reach customers in our counties.

7. How do I subscribe?

Just call 662-773-6241, or email bookkeeping@winstoncountyjournal.com or visit our offices at 233 North Court, Louisville, MS or 48 North Louisville Street, Ackerman, MS or 58 North Dunn, Eupora, MS 39744. Subscription rates in County are $32 per year. For subscriptions outside of the County the rate is $45 per year.

8. Does your publication include classified ads?

9. What are your business hours?

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

10. Where is your newspaper printed?

Our pages are designed and composed by our staff before being electronically transferred to the printing press at the Delta Democrat Times in Greenville. We then transport the papers back to our respective county for distribution.

11. What are the politics of your publications?

Our editorial opinions are based on what we believe is right and not influenced by political affiliation. We also welcome opposing viewpoints. We believe that the exchange of different ideas and opinions is an essential part of our mission. Letters to the editor and guest columns are strongly encouraged. We believe in EVERY person's right to Free Speech.
