Noxapater advances to boys state tournament

After losing two of three games in the regular season to rival Nanih Waiya, Noxapater got the win that mattered most last Tuesday as they ended the Warriors season with a 50-41 loss in the Division 6-1A Tournament.

The Tigers finished fourth in the tournament and also lost 72-41 to West Lowndes ad 64-52 to Vardaman.

Lady Warriors take win over Noxapater in division tourney

The Nanih Waiya Lady Warriors got a two-for-one special on Tuesday night.

With a 37-35 win over Noxapater, the Lady Warriors qualified for the Class 1A playoffs and also ended their rival's season.

After that, the Lady Warriors finished fourth in the Division 6-1A Tournament, losing 49-20 to Hamilton and 47-21 to West Lowndes.

Weather permitting, spring sports ready to get going

Wet weather has already taken its toll on the spring sports seasons in Winston County and they haven't even officially begun.

There was a full slate of games scheduled for baseball and fast-pitch softball this week, but it is likely none of it will be played, or at least will have to be rescheduled.
