The Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department needs the public’s help identifying the individual who allegedly broke into the Dollar General, located at 1842 MS Highway 12 in Weir.
According to a release on the Sheriff’s app, the department responded to a burglary alarm Monday at Dollar General.
The person, believed to be male, gained entry into the store by allegedly shattering the glass of the front door by using what appeared to have been a tire iron. Surveillance cameras inside the store showed the male wearing a blue jacket, black jeans, blue and red gloves, and brown and black work boots. After the male entered the store, surveillance footage showed the male taking items.
The footage then shows the male using the same method to gain entry into the store, to smash the cigarette case. He then allegedly took packs of Newport cigarettes. The unidentified male then ran out the back door to a gray Sedan. The Sedan was then seen on camera going north on Drain Road toward Highway 12 and turning left.
Cameras lose sight of the vehicle as it headed toward Highway 413.
