Legion Park Lodge area gets makeover

Members of the Friends of Legion State Park and Town & Country Garden Club spruced up the areas around the Historic Legion State Park Lodge recently.

The groups joined together and used a “Fire Wise” grant to purchase the plant material, soil fertilizer and mulch for improving the landscape around the Lodge.

4th of July Fireworks in Nanih Waiya Community Park set for June 29

Friends of Nanih Waiya Community Park will host an annual Fireworks at Nanih Waiya Community Park on June 29 starting around 6:30 p.m.

The event will also feature music from Shake the Bucket. Food and other great fun will be available during the event.

The fireworks will begin approximately at 9 pm from Ellis Houston.
