Winston County’s unemployment rate remained moved slightly in April, according to preliminary numbers from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security.

Winston County’s unemployment rate stood at 4.1% during April, which up from the 4.0% in March. Unemployment here was 6.5% in April 2021.

Webster County’s unemployment rate stood at 3.4% during April, which was the same as in March. Unemployment here was 5.6% in April 2021.

FCA runners win at Champions’ meet

Two runners who played a key role in French Camp winning the 1A girls state track championship were winners at the Mississippi Meet of Champions at Pearl High School recently.

Taylor Benoit, a senior, won the 800 with a time of 2:27.04. Freshman Lucy Littlejohn won the 3200 (12:33.59).
