Chargers clinch Region 4-3A football title

It was offense 14, defense 14 for Choctaw County as the Chargers clinched the Region 4-3A championship with a 28-18 victory over Noxubee County. Two touchdown runs by quarterback Tylan Carter were matched by defensive touchdowns resulting from two of the five takeaways by the Charger defense.

Behind the play of C.J. Johnson, French Camp kept its playoff hopes alive with a 41-6 victory over Hamilton. The Panthers dominated from start to finish leading 28-0 at the half and 41-0 through three quarters before Hamilton avoided a shutout by scoring a touchdown in the final minute.

CCCHS volleyball team completes strong season

The Choctaw County volleyball season came to an end with a 25-15, 25-17, 25-4 loss to Belmont in the second round of the MHSSA Class I tournament. It ended a successful season that saw the Lady Chargers go 12-0 in Region 4 and defeat Senatobia 3-0 in the opening round of the tournament.
