FCA's Wade takes first round win

OXFORD – French Camp tennis player Grace Ann Wade won her opening round match at the MHSAA Class I individual tennis tournament Monday. She defeated Janice Novak of Enterprise Clarke before losing to Marissa Petitgout of Bruce in the quarterfinals.

Jewell qualifies for 3A State Tournament

GRENADA – Connor Jewell of Choctaw County qualified for the 3A state golf tournament with a round of 84 at the district match at Dogwoods Golf Course at Grenada. The 36-hole tournament will be played May 3 and 4 at the 6,339 yard par Par 71 Hillandale Golf Course in Corinth.

Lady Panthers sweep Salem in softball playoffs

French Camp came from behind in both games to defeat Salem 17-9 and 15-8 in the opening round of the MHSAA softball playoffs. The Lady Panthers played Stringer in the second round.

Lady Chargers qualify for softball playoffs

Choctaw County was held to three hits in season-ending 17-1 and 12-0 losses to Booneville in the opening round of the MHSAA 3A softball playoffs.

The first game was 1-1 through four innings. Booneville scored in the top of the first, but the Lady Chargers tied it in the bottom of the inning on a double by Jalia James.
