2023 Qualifying Statewide Elections

Qualifying for the 2023 Statewide elections is now underway. Qualifying opened on January 3 and will end on February 1.
Voters will not only vote for countywide seats but will vote for statewide seats as well. Voters in Choctaw County will also vote for an election commissioner in a special election.

Chargers to host Mid-Mississippi Challenge Saturday

This week, the Lady Chargers and Chargers participated in the McAdams Christmas Tournament and the East Webster Christmas Classic in Cumberland. The teams walked away 1-2, as they prepare to open the new year tonight in Vardaman against the Lady Rams and Rams and tomorrow host the Mid-Mississippi Challenge, before entering district play.

Myers appointed election commissioner

The Choctaw County Board of Supervisors has appointed Shannon Myers to serve out the term of former District 3 Election Commission Dorothy Anderson. District 3 Supervisor Chris McIntire said he’s spoken to Myers, and she’s accepted the appointment.

Chargers split with Wildcats, defeats Hilltoppers

Tuesday night, the Chargers took on the Louisville Wildcats. In the matchup against the girls, it was the Lady Wildcats that pulled away with the win. The Chargers tried to fight back, but the Lady Wildcats went on a run and never looked back.
