The Tigers and Lady Tigers of Noxapater High School entered the week hoping to secure their first region wins of the year.
Both squads opened region 5-1A play last week with losses to French Camp and McAdams. This week Noxapater was set to visit league-leading Ethel on Tuesday before hosting arch-rival Nanih Waiya on Friday. Junior varsity action begins for the NW contest at 4 p.m. with varsity play estimated to begin at 6 p.m.
The following week Noxapater hosts West Lowndes on Tuesday and visits French Camp on Friday.
Last week the girls fell to French Camp 40-29 and McAdams 58-33. Asia Glass scored 11 points for the Lady Tigers against FCA, while Morgan Duran tossed in eight. Laney Boatner pumped in 15 for Noxapater in the loss to McAdams, while Rayvyn Wagner had seven.
The Noxapater boys fell 58-46 to French Camp. K.D. Carter scored 18 for the Tigers and Kyle Phillips 15. Phillips and Bryan Glass had 12 points each in the Tigers’ 77-53 setback to McAdams.
