The Lady Warriors of Nanih Waiya High School split a pair of region volleyball matches last week, headed into a pair of tough showdowns this week.
NW beat Kemper County 25-17, 25-12, 25-14 last week, before falling to Amory in four sets, 25-11, 22-25, 25-15, and 25-15. This week the Lady Warriors were set to host Grace Christian on Tuesday before visiting region power Choctaw County on Thursday.
“These are two tough games for us this week against some really good programs,” said NW head coach Dayna Hunter.
I’onnya Coleman had four kills against Kemper County, while Dallyn Nance and Kaylee Gregory had three each. Nance also had three aces, while Chloe Weeks recorded three aces and three assists.
The NW junior varsity took a two-set win over Kemper County, 25-13, 25-20.
Weeks had five digs, four assists and a block in the match against Amory, while Coleman had six kids and Nance had five blocks. Jalia Cotton delivered three aces for NW.
