On Monday, June 3, engineer Marty Crowder reported to the Choctaw County Board of Supervisors concerning the near completion of projects at the Ackerman-Choctaw County Airport; the Board voted unanimously to approve the following measures:
• Payment to Anderson Construction in the amount of $65K.
• Final payment to Master Craft Builders in the amount of $10.8K.
• Payment of engineering costs in the amount of $3.8K.
• Pay applications to the FAA & MDOT for reimbursements.
Mattie McDaniel addressed the Board about the purchase of 700 pencils to be placed in back-to-school packs, as well as a Back-to-School Jamboree to be held on Saturday, July 27. The Board members purchased the pencils out of personal funds, and Board President Joey Stephenson stated that he would supply a grill to be used on the day of the Jamboree.
In an emergency meeting on Friday, June 7, the Board met to approve the paperwork for bond funds in the amount of $100K, to be used for paving East Sherwood OCL Road.
