The Coronavirus pandemic has certainly led to creativity.
Thursday night (May 7) Noxapater High School has planned a quarantine style greeting for new head football coach Roy Rigsby and his coaching staff.
The event will take place on the Noxapater High School football Field. Principal Chet Wilkes asks those interested in taking part should begin to line up in their vehicles in front of the schools weight room at 5:45 p.m. At 6 p.m. the parade will then be led down to Learn Burton Field where they will circle the track.
In a facebook post on Tuesday morning Wilkes encourage those attending to “Bring your cowbells and make some noise as you circle the track.”
After everyone is in place Rigsby will then address the gathering by sharing his vision for the program and introducing the football coaching staff.
Wilkes encouraged everyone to please stay in their vehicles and practice safe social distancing procedures.
“With the situation of the COVID 19 we didn’t officially get to introduce the coach like we would normally do when he was first hired,” Wilkes said. “I think the big thing is to show the kids that everybody is in place and we are ready to roll as soon as this stuff lifts and we can get back to normalcy.”
