The Noxapater Lady Tigers continued to impress in their turnaround season as they added two more wins to their total last week.
The Lady Tigers hammered French Camp 59-22 on Tuesday and then took a big 57-53 over Leake County to stay atop the Division 3-1A standings.
The Noxapater boys split a pair of games last week as they beat French Camp 63-25 and lost 88-58 to Leake County.
Noxapater will hit the road this week in a pair of division contests as they travel to McAdams on in a key matchup for the Lady Tigers. They will finish the week at Ethel on Friday.
The Lady Tigers improved to 12-5 overall and 5-1 in division play,
Noxapater girls 59, French Camp 22
The Lady Tigers started fast and had little trouble with the Lady Panthers on Tuesday.
Noxapater raced out to a 22-3 lead in the first period and then outscored Noxapater 14-5 in the second to lead 36-8 at the half. The Lady Tigers continued to extend the lead in the second half and outscored French Camp 18-11 in the third and 5-3 in the fourth.
Nadia Bates led Noxapater with 19 points while Morgan Woods had 11 points. Cambree Moore had nine points while Laney Boatner had seven points and Asia Glass and Caroline Swindle each chipped in five points apiece.
Noxapater boys 63, French Camp 25
The Tigers outscored the Panthers in every period and cruised to a 38-point win.
Noxapater led 11-4 at the end of the first and outscored French Camp 23-11 in the second to lea 34-15 at the half. The Tigers continued to extend their lead in the second half as they outscored the Panthers 18-4 in the third and 11-6 in the fourth.
James Kugle led Noxapater with 18 points while Kyle Phillips had 14 points. Keon Tucker had eight points and Chris Dale added seven points.
Noxapater girls 57, Leake County 53
The Lady Tigers used a big third period to overcome a first-half deficit and take a big four-point win over the Lady Gators in division play on Friday.
Each team scored 12 points in the first period and Leake outscored Noxapater 12-9 in the second and led 24-21 at the half. Noxapater then outscored Leake 22-13 in the third and took a 43-37 lead into the fourth. Leake took the fourth period 16-14 for the final margin.
Kaliyah Moore led Noxapater with 18 points and 13 rebounds while Cambree Moore had 12 points and nine rebounds. Morgan Woods had eight points while Laney Boatner had seven points. Nadia Bates chipped in six points and Asia Glass added five points.
Leake County boys 88, Noxapater 58
The Gators opened up a big lead in the first half and cruised to a 30-point win over the Tigers on Friday.
Leake jumped out to a 26-11 lead in the first period and then outscored the Tigers 17-7 in the second to lead 43-18 at the half. Leake continued to extend its lead in the second half, outscoring Noxapater 26-23 in the third and 19-17 in the fourth.
Kyle Philips led Noxapater with 24 points while Keon Tucker had 18 points.
