Approximately 150 people attended the Ninth Annual First Responders Dinner held at the Community Center this past Friday night.
The dinner is held each year to show appreciation for those on the front line to protect the lives and properties of Choctaw County Residents. The dinner was catered by Pap’s Place and Sonny’s Smokehouse, with entertainment by the Full Circle Party Band.
Members of the following departments attended the dinner: Ackerman Volunteer Fire Department, Ackerman Police Department, Bywy Volunteer Fire Department, Chester Volunteer Fire Department, Choctaw County Board of Supervisors, County Emergency Management Agency, E-911, French Camp Volunteer Fire Department, Pafford Ambulance Service, Panhandle Volunteer Fire Department, Reform Volunteer Fire Department, Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department, Simpson Volunteer Fire Department, Union Volunteer Fire Department, Weir Volunteer Fire Department, and Weir Police Department.
Sponsors of the dinner were Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce, 4-County Electric Power Association, Boral Resources, Clark Beverage Group, Inc., Franklin Telephone Company, North American Coal, Southern Company and Walmart.
