According to Choctaw County School District Superintendent, Glen Beard, following the directives of Governor Tate Reeves, all schools within the district will remain closed until April 17, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The district was scheduled to begin a feeding program on Tuesday, March 24, with meals available at Choctaw County High School, Weir Elementary School and French Camp Elementary School.
Parents are asked to choose the location that is most convenient.
Children from ages 0-18 years are eligible to pick up breakfast and lunch for the next day between the hours of 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. All locations will be a drive-through, graband-go style, and everyone must remain in their vehicles for the safety of everyone involved.
Those presenting with COVID-19 symptoms, cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc., orwho have traveled outside the state of Mississippi within the past 14 days are asked to not pick up meals.
CCSD says, “It will take us all doing our part to stop the spread of COVID-19.”
