According to Choctaw Regional Medical Center CEO, Jamie Rodgers, in order to deal with the COVID-19 outbreak no visitation is allowed at this time, and until further notice.
Also, all staff members are restricted to one entrance, and a temperature screening is performed when they enter. Anyone with a temperature exceeding 100.4 degrees is sent home.
According to Brooke Eaves, Clinic Administrator at the Louisville Medical Clinic, the clinic has been separated into two sides, one for those who might be presenting with flulike symptoms, and a side for those with other complaints. There is also a triage center underneath a tent at the clinic entrance to screen patients before they enter.
Those presenting with flu-like symptoms are tested for the flu, and if that comes back negative they are tested for COVID-19. Similar protocols are in place at the Choctaw Medical Clinic and the Choctaw Medical Clinic in Ackerman.
Those who suspect that they may have been exposed to COVID-19 are asked to selfquarantine at home. Those with flu-like symptoms should contact their medical clinic first to receive further instructions.
These measures are being put in place to safeguard the health of the public and staff members, and all cooperation is appreciated.
