The Ackerman Board of Aldermen held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 3, in which they heard from Cecil Harris who was requesting an exception to the R2 zoning on Gaston Sreet where he intends to place a manufactured home. He pointed out that this is not a mobile home and will be placed on a foundation, with no axles or tongue.
Alderman Billy Ganann pointed out that the Town still has no mobile home ordinance and raised the question of what the Board will do when someone else asks for an exception.
The Board voted 3-1 to approve the exception, with Ganann voting against and Alderman. Carl Phelps abstaining.
In other action, the Board unanimously to approve travel for Chief of Police Tim Cook for the 2020 Annual Chiefs Conference in Biloxi, on June 15-19
