The Noxapater softball kicked off the 2022 season by winning two out of three games.
The Lady Tigers beat Louisville 22-17 and Columbus 19-5 while falling 10-1 to rival Nanih Waiya.
Noxapater is scheduled to travel to Kemper County on Tuesday, Louisville on Thursday and West Point on Friday, weather permitting.
Noxapater 22, Louisville 17
In a football like scored, the Lady Tigers used three big innings to take a five-run win over the Lady Wildcats.
Noxapater scored six in the first and second, eight in the third and two in the fourth. Louisville scored five in the second, three in the third and eight in the firth.
Louisville outhit Noxapater 13-8 in the contest but the Lady Tigers drew12 walks and had six batters hit.
Laney Boatner was the only Lady Tigers with multiple hits, going 2-for-2 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Marley Joiner and Kenzie Harrell each doubled and scored three runs while Kaitlyn Sanborn singled, walked twice, scored twice and had three RBIs. Kyleigh Daughterty scored three runs while Makayla Bartholomew also scored two.
Jodie Wilkes started and pitched three innings, giving up eight runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five. Sadie Fitch pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up nine runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four. Marley Joiner came in and got the last two outs.
Noxapater 19, Columbus 5
The Lady Tigers scored in each of the first four innings to take a run-rule win on Tuesday.
After each team scored three runs in the first inning, Noxapater scored six in the second and third and finished with four in the fourth.
Noxapater had eight hits and drew nine walks. Jodie Wilkes was 2-for-3 with a double, four runs scored and two RBIs. Marley Joiner was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs while Kaitlyn Sunburn was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. Kenzie Harrell doubled and drove in two runs while Kelli Thomas had three RBIs. Asia Glass walked three times and scored three runs while Laney Boatner scored two runs.
Marley Joiner pitched all four innings to pick up the win and gave up five runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight.
Nanih Waiya 10, Noxapater 1
The Lady Warriors used a relentless offense to pull way and take a nine-run win over the Lady Tigers on Friday.
Nanih Waiya scored two in the second, third and fourth innings and finished with four in the fifth. Noxapater scored its one run in the fifth.
Noxapater had three hits and committed six errors. Asia Glass, Kenzie Hall and Sadie Fitch all singled while Harrell scored and Fitch had the only RBI.
Marley Joiner started and pitched all four innings and gave up 10 runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out two.
