It was a rough week for the Noxapater basketball teams.
The Lady Tigers lost both games they played last week, falling 50-26 to Ethel and 54-32 to Sebastopol.
The Tigers only got to play once last week, falling 64-57 to Ethel. They had to forfeit their game with Sebastopol.
Noxapater will return to action this week as they host Leake County on Tuesday and will travel to French Camp on Friday.
Ethel girls 50, Noxapater 26
Ethel outscored Noxapater in every period and took a 24-point win.
Ethel led 14-9 at the end of the first and then outscored Noxapater 11-2 in the second to lead 25-11 at the half. Ethel continued to extend its lead in the second half as they outscored Noxapater 11-8 in the third and 14-7 in the fourth.
Laney Boatner led Noxapater with eight points while Asia Glass had seven points.
Ethel boys 64, Noxapater 57
Ethel grabbed an early lead and held on to take a seven-point win over Noxapater in district play.
Ethel jumped out to an 18-12 had in the first period and outscored Noxapater 19-18 in the second to lead 37-30 at the half. Ethel outscored Noxapater 11-10 in the third while Noxapater took the fourth period 17-16 for the final margin.
Kyle Phillips led Noxapater with 19 points while Caleb Ellingburg had 15 points.
Sebastopol girls 54, Noxapater 32
The Lady Bobcats jumped out to a quick lead and crushed to a 22-point win over the Lady Tigers.
Sebastopol started fast and jumped out to a 22-3 lead in the first period and led 30-11 at the half. The Lady Bobcats outscored the Lady Tigers 16-9 in the third to take a 46-20 lead into the fourth. Noxapater took the fourth period 12-8 for the final margin.
Asia Glass had 13 points to lead the Lady Tiges while Nadia Bates had nine points. Kaliyah also chipped in six points.
