Election Day is only two weeks away, Tuesday, November 5, with polls open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. There are a number of contested races on the ballot for Choctaw County including statewide, district and local offices.
Voting in the 2019 November 5th General Election is underway. Mississippi Absentee Ballots became available Saturday, September 21.
Absentee voting is available in circumstances that would prevent a voter from being able to go to a polling place: 65 years or older, someone who will be out of town, or those physically unable. To vote absentee, the voter must fill out an application at the Choctaw County Circuit Clerk’s office explaining why the person will need to vote absentee, must have a valid ID, and will be required to vote at the Circuit Clerk’s office or mail the ballot in.
The last day for absentee voting at the Choctaw County Circuit Clerk’s office is Saturday, November 2. Ballots that are mailed in must arrive at the Circuit Clerk’s office by Monday, November 4.
