At their regular monthly meeting, on Monday, April 8, the Choctaw County Board of Education dealt with several matters. The Board heard a discussion of whether or not to accept a student to attend the Choctaw County School District after the student was released by the Attala County School Board. The CCSD Board unanimously approved acceptance of the student.
The Board heard from Laura Gibbs on a request for the Board to reconsider renewing the expiring lease with MAP Headstart. No action was taken on the matter.
The Board also heard an update on Choctaw County High School from Principal, Amber Vowell, highlighting remediation strategies that the school is implementing to improve test scores.
In other action, the Board:
• Unanimously approved a lengthy consent agenda and financials.
