The Noxapater fast-pitch softball team will look to shake off a loss to Sebastopol this week as they have three tough contests on the slate, including a pair of games against region foes.
The Lady Tigers were set to visit cross-county rival Nanih Waiya on Tuesday before hosting Ethel on Thursday and then hitting the road to take on non-league foe Choctaw County on Friday.
The next week has Noxapater entertaining West Lowndes on March 23 and French camp on March 25 before visiting West Point on March 26 and taking part in the Sebastopol Tournament on Saturday, March 27.
The Lady Tigers had two hits in Friday’s 22-1 loss to Sebastopol with Kailyn Sanborn and Makayla Bartholomew picking up a single each. Sanborn also scored a run for Noxapater while Jodie Wilkes, Caroline Swindle, and Bartholomew each drew walks. Stolen bases were recorded by Bartholomew and Sanborn, while Marley Joiner notched six strikeouts in the circle in five innings of work.
Sebastopol scored at least two runs in each of the five innings played, including 10 in the fifth.
