The Noxapater Tigers put together four impressive wins this past week, scoring in double digits in all of them.
The Tigers started with a doubleheader sweep of McAdams on Tuesday, winning 16-1 and 14-1. They then beat Winona 17-3 on Thursday and 14-0 on Friday.
The Tigers, now 16-3 on the season, will be back in action this week as they take on cross-creek rival Nanih Waiya in a two-game series with playoff implications. Game 1 will be at Nanih Waiya on Tuesday and Game 2 will return to Noxapater on Friday.
Noxapater 16, McAdams 1
The Tigers needed just three innings to take a no-hit win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday in the first game of a doubleheader.
Noxapater scored 11 runs in the first, three in the second and two in the third.
The Tigers had just five hits but took advantage of five walks, five errors and six hit batters. Bryton Yates was 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBIs while Brody Joiner and Reid Ellison each doubled.
Briston Daughtery started on the mound and pitched all three innings and gave up one unearned run on one walk while striking out eight.
Noxapater 14, McAdams 1
The Tigers finished with an eight-run fourth inning and cruised to a run-rule win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
Noxapater scored one in the first, five in the second and eight in the fourth.
Noxapater had seven hits and took advantage of five errors, five hits batters and three walks. Corbin Stapleton was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored while Jxxxx Robinson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Luke Reynolds, Luke Sanborn, Bxxx Ellison and Peyton Carlisle each scored two runs.
Zach Lloyd started on the mound and pitched three innings, giving up one run on one hit and four walks while striking out eight. Reynolds pitched the last inning and struck out two.
Noxapater 17, Winona 3
Noxapater finished with eight runs in the sixth inning and rolled to a 14-run win over Winona on Thursday.
Noxapater scored four in the first, three in the third, two in the fourth and eight in the sixth.
Noxapater had 11 hits in the contest, led by Braxton Daughtery was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Luke Sanborn was 2-for-5 with two RBIs while Corbin Stapleton was 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Brady Ellison was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Brody Joiner had four RBIs. Nathan Hemphill also had a single and two RBIs while Bryton Yates singled and scored three runs.
Braxton Daughtery pitched all five innings and gave up three runs on six hits.
Noxapater 14, Kemper Academy 0
The Tigers took advantage of nine errors and five walks as they took a run-rule win over the Rams on Friday.
Noxapater scored one in the first and fourth, five in the second and seven in the third.
The Tigers had eight hits in the contest, led by Braxton Daughtery who was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Corbin Stapleton was 2-for-4 with three RBIs while Luke Sanborn doubled and drove in two runs.
Sanborn started on the mound and pitched four innings and gave up three hits and a walk.
