Panthers just short of first win, preparing to take on Eupora

The French Camp Panthers did everything but win on Friday night.

French Camp had more than 500 yards of offense and rushed for 462 yards but some costly turnovers allowed West Lowndes to take a 42-20 win in the season opener for both teams.

French Camp, now 0-1, will travel to Eupora this week to take on the Eagles.

French Camp sets sights on upcoming year

Normally, French Camp football coach Nathan Wright spends the first three or four games of the season trying to figure out where to put his players.

But this season, the veteran coach says he’s way ahead of schedule with a host of returning starters back from a 4-7 season that saw the Panthers lose four games by one touchdown or less.

Panthers suffer tough season loss to Enterprise-Lincoln

French Camp saw its season come to an end last week after a tight series with Enterprise-Lincoln.

French Camp won the first game 4-2 on Monday but then lost 2-1 to the Yellowjackets on Friday night. The Yellowjackets then took an 8-4 win on Saturday to clinch the series and advance in the Class 1A playoffs.
