Maben Board of Aldermen adopts beer/light wine ordinance

A beer and light wine ordinance is now in effect in the town of Maben. The town was granted resort status under a Senate bill the Legislature approved and the governor signed in May. A related public hearing regarding the proposed sale of beer/light wine was held July 29 in the City Hall courtroom.

Five file for seats on Webster County School Board

Man sentenced for manslaughter in accidental shooting death

WALTHALL ó A judge has sentenced a young man to serve five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of a teenager. Austin Lee Crowley, 21, of Maben pleaded guilty to manslaughter by culpable negligence on June 13, Webster County Circuit Court records show.
