Meek retires as city judge

Buchanan Meek Jr. has retired as the city of Euporas municipal judge after nearly 40 years in that position. Meek submitted a letter of resignation to the Eupora Board of Aldermen on Nov. 25. The letter informed the board he was retiring as the citys municipal judge as of Nov. 27.

Man charged in western Clay County home burglary

A man turned himself in after authorities identified him as a suspect in a residential burglary in neighboring Clay County. The burglary occurred Nov. 11 at 365 Joe Thompson Road in western Clay County, according to a Nov. 15 press release from the Clay County Sheriffís Office.

Hood, Hodges in School Board runoff

D3 School Board race appears headed to runoff

No candidate had received a majority of the vote as of press deadline in the Webster County School Boardís District 3 election, which appeared to be headed to a runoff. Three candidates were running for the open District 3 seat in Tuesdayís general election: Caleb Alford, Jonathan Hodges and Connor Hood.
