Kolb, Norwood will meet in runoff for chancery clerk

A runoff election will be held later this month for Webster County chancery clerk as no candidate received a majority of the vote Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Michael Kolb, Ken Norwood and Chris Turnipseed were running for the open seat in the Republican primary.

Democratic, Republican primaries set for Aug. 8

Primary Election Day for statewide, state-district, legislative, county and county-district offices is Aug. 8. Primary runoffs, if required, will be Aug. 29.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. both Tuesdays and voters are reminded not to forget their photo ID.

Webster County School Board cancels two 16th Section leases

The Webster County School Board canceled two 16th Section leases at a previous meeting.

It did so June 12, when board members Daniel Bingham (District 1), Rana Mitchell (District 2), Jimmy Hood (District 4) and Gabby Davis (District 5) were present. Board attorney representative Elizabeth Maron was also present, meeting minutes show.
