With Senate resolution number 63, the Mississippi senate recognized Jeff Rosamond. Rosamond served 32 years with the Mississippi Senate as the longtime Senate Legislative Services Attorney and Director.

Rosamond retired at the conclusion of the 2022 Regular Session.

Unemployment rate remains almost unchanged

Choctaw County’s unemployment rate moved slightly in April, according to preliminary numbers from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security.

Choctaw County’s unemployment rate stood at 3.4% during April, which up from the 3.2% in March. Unemployment here was 5.0% in April 2021.
