Webster County Schools announce open house dates

Registration of students and beginning of instruction is Aug. 4 for Webster County Schools.

These are the dates of open houses and related events at each school:

East Webster Elementary: Open house is 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1 for kindergarten, second grade, fourth grade and Mrs. Kelly’s room only.

School meal information for 2022-23

The Webster County School District’s Department of Child Nutrition has released information for the 2022-23 school year.

One can apply online for free and reduced meals at www.myschoolapps.com. Paper applications will be provided beginning Aug. 4, which is the first day of school for students.

Monthly sales tax collections released

Sales tax revenue numbers that reflect May sales are in from the Mississippi Department of Revenue for local municipalities.

MDR collects 81.5 percent of the 7 percent sales tax from municipalities and distributes the remaining 18.5 percent back to the municipalities over a three-month cycle.
