Noxapater hoops season comes to close

The boys and girls basketball seasons for Noxapater High School came to a close last week as they failed to qualify for the Region 5-1A Tournament.

The Lady Tigers lost three games last week, falling to Nanih Waiya 76-48, McAdams 45-27, and West Lowndes 59-33.

Lady Warriors pick up two basketball victories

The Lady Warriors of Nanih Waiya won two of three games last week, while the NW boys picked up one, taking a weather-shortened win last Monday night.

This week NW hoops squads were set to visit Noxapater on Tuesday and host French Camp on Friday.

The Tigers and Lady Tigers of Noxapater High School headed into the last week of the basketball regular season looking to close out strong.

Noxapater was set to host arch-rival Nanih Waiya on Tuesday, McAdams on Thursday and West Lowndes on Friday, before heading to Attala County for the region tournament the following week.

Big run, amazing shot give NW boost against Noxapater

For nearly 11 minutes the Noxapater and Nanih Waiya boys played as tight a basketball game as you can play before the Warriors used a 12-1 run sparked by strong bench played and a dramatic basket at the halftime buzzer to take control of the contest on the way to a 75-46 Region 5-1A win on Friday night.
