Winston County’s "Miracle Child" goes to the prom

It will be nine years on April 28, since an EF4 Tornado tore through Winston County, leaving a mass of destruction with over 350 homes destroyed, many damaged, ten people killed, and many injured. One child was spared death and became the ‘miracle child’ of that tornado.

Beautification Day at Dean Park success

The Friends of Dean Park, Inc. was elated that two groups of youth came to Beautification Day. There were members of the Winston County Youth and College Chapter NAACP and the BETA Club of Louisville High School. They transplanted flowers, removed weeds, and racked leaves.

Pink Celebration Founders 75th Birthday

Janice Turner, the founder of the Pink Celebration for cancer survivors, was surprised with a party to celebrate her 75th birthday. Her two brothers from Chicago Illinois- Claiborne and Duke Turner planned this event without her knowledge and surprisingly nobody 'spilled the beans'.
