With a population of just about 400, the town of Noxapater could easily be just another small town in Mississippi. The little town was incorporated in 1906, but the first post office was established sixty years prior. Noxapater was once a stop of the Mobile, Jackson, and Kansas City Railroad, and the railroad still runs parallel to Highway 15.
