A veteran helping fellow vets – the Veterans’ Service office

Americans recently celebrated the memory of those brave soldiers who sacrificed everything to protect our freedom. In Winston County, a group of vets gathered at the courthouse last Monday morning to lower the flag to half-staff, a Memorial Day tradition.

Vets honor Winston County fallen

Early Monday morning, several veterans met at the Winston County Courthouse. They were carrying out a traditional Memorial Day ceremony, during which the courthouse flag would be lowered to half-staff in honor of those who willingly gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep Americans free.
