The Nanih Waiya baseball team finally got to play in the Class 1A playoffs and took two wins over Sebastopol last week.
The Warriors swept the Bobcats, take game 1 of the series 8-6 and then finishing off the series with a 14-2 win on Saturday.
Nanih Waiya improves to 20-1 on the season with the sweep and will take on Hamilton on Thursday in a 6 p.m. contest.
Nanih Waiya 14, Sebastopol 2
The Warriors scored 11 runs in the third inning and took a five-inning, run-rule win over the Bobcats to complete the series sweep on Saturday.
Nanih Waiya scored two runs in the second and another in the fourth while Sebastopol scored one in the fourth and fifth innings.
The Warriors outhit the Bobcats 13-2 in the contest as Jake Kight was 3-for-3 with a grand slam, two runs scored and five RBIs. Tylan Glass was 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs. Cody Clark was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs while Tanner Luke was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Coley Taylor was 2-for-2 with two doubles and hit by a pitch twice while Trevor Holdiness walked twice and scored three runs.
Kight started on the mound for the Warriors and pitched all five innings, giving up two unearned runs on two hits and six walks while striking out four.
Nanih Waiya 8, Sebastopol 6
The Warriors opened up an early lead and held on to take a two-run win over the Bobcats on Friday.
Nanih Waiya scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth and added single runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Sebastopol scored one in the third, three in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Nanih Waiya outhit Sebastopol 11-5 in the contest and each team committed four errors. Shia Moore was 3-for-4 in the contest and had two stolen bases while Tanner Luke was 2-for-2 with a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Donovan Turner was 2-for-3 while Coley Taylor had a home run and scored two runs. Tatum Luke and Cody Clark each had doubles.
Tanner Luke starts and pitched three innings while Tatum Luke, Taylor Higginbotham, Gabe Sciple and Jake Kight each pitched in the contest.
