The Nanih Waiya baseball team got a week off as they prepare for a run at a third straight Class 1A state championship.
After beating Eupora 6-3 on Tuesday, the Warriors got a pair of forfeit wins over Mount Olive in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs.
The Warriors, now 18-1 on the year, will take on the winner of the Sebastopol and Sacred Heart series.

The Warriors scored five runs in the fifth and took a tight three-run win over the Eagles on Tuesday.
Nanih Waiya scored one in the first and finished off with five in the fifth, Eupora scored all three of their runs in the fifth.
Nanih Waiya outhit Eupora 5-2 in the contest while each team had four errors in the field. Tanner Luke was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for the Warriors. Shia Moore singled and scored two runs while Jake Kight signed and had an RBI. Coley Taylor, Donovan Turner and Dawson Eaves each scored a run. Moore also had two stolen bases.
Kight started and pitched five innings, going up three unearned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out 10. Tanner Luke pitched the final two innings and struck out four to pick up the save.
Lady Warriors face Vardaman in second round

After 11 days off, Nanih Waiya finally got to play in the Class 1A playoffs.
After getting a pair of forfeits from Mount Olive in the first round of the playoffs, the Lady Warriors lost 3-0 to Vardaman on Monday.
Nanih Waiya, now 6-9 on the season, was set to travel to Vardaman on Tuesday for game two and a possible game three if necessary.
he Lady Rams used a strong pitching performance to take a shutout win over the Lady Warriors on Monday.
Vardaman scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Vardaman outhit Nanih Waiya 8-3 in the contest.
Kylee Gregory doubled while Dallyn Nance and Hanna Higginbotham both singled for NW. Morgan Mills pitched all seven innings and scattered eight hits and three walks while striking out seven.
