The Nanih Waiya Warriors stayed unbeaten last week as they took a 16-2 win over Southeast Lauderdale on Tuesday in their only action of the week.
The Warriors were scheduled to play at East Central Community College on Monday but those games were moved to East Webster and eventually rained out.
The Warriors are scheduled to return from spring break and open division play as they host McAdams in a doubleheader on Tuesday starting at 5 p.m. On Friday, March 22, the Warriors will host Kosciusko in a 6 p.m. contest. On Saturday, March 23, the Warriors will then host Winona in a 1 p.m. contest to finish out the week.
Nanih Waiya 16, Southeast Lauderdale 2
The Warriors used a pair of big innings and took a six-inning, run-rule win over the Tigers on Tuesday.
Southeast led 1-0 after third inning before Nanih Waiya scored six in the fourth, three in the fifth and seven in the sixth. Southeast also scored one in the fifth.
The Warriors outhit the Tigers 9-3 in the contest. The Warriors took advantage of nine walks and five errors by the Warriors.
Shia Moore led the Warriors at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. Jake Kight had a double, walked twice, scored twice and drove in three runs. Donovan Turner doubled, walked twice and scored three runs. Devean Turner scored twice while Coley Taylor had three RBIs. Dawson Eaves also scored three runs.
Kight pitched the first four innings and gave up two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out seven to pick up the win. Tatum Luke pitched the last two innings and gave up just one hit and struck out three.
