The Noxapater Tigers took a pair of wins last week as they took two games from Leake County.
The Tigers beat the Gators 15-4 and 12-1 to grab their first two wins of the year. The Tigers also lost 21-11 to Louisville and 13-2 to Sebastopol.
The Tigers were scheduled to play Choctaw Central in Forest on Tuesday after Monday’s games were rained out. After spring break, the Tigers will go to West Lowndes on Tuesday in a division contest and host the Panthers on Thursday.
Noxapater 15, Leake County 4
The Tigers used an eight-run second inning to take a 4 1/2 inning run-rule victory over Leake County on Monday.
Noxapater scored one in the first, eight in the second, four in the third and two in the fourth to take the win.
The Tigers had nine hits in the contest, led by Landon Bailey who was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBIs. Nick Stone was also 2-for-3, score two runs and drove in four. Dalton Keen had a double and drove in two runs while Chevy Welborn singled and drove in two runs. Zach Kimbriel walked twice and scored each time while Riley Jones and Lane Bailey each scored twice. Hunter Johnson walked twice and also scored three runs. Stone and Johnson each had two stolen bases.
Lane Bailey got the start on the mound and pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up four runs, only one earned on three hits and three walks. Stone pitched the next 1 1/3 and struck out three while Luke Welbron pitched the last 1 1/3 and only gave up one hit.
Noxapater 12, Leake County 1
The Tigers jumped head early and took a four-inning, run-rule victory on Friday.
The Tigers scored five in the first, four in the second and three in the fourth.
The Tigers had five hits, nine walks and six reach after being hit by a pitch.
Nick Stone led the way, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Dalton Keen was also 2-for-2 with an RBI while Jaylen Carter walked twice. Jace McAdory scored three runs and had three stolen bases while Lane Bailey had two steals. Lane Bailey and Landon Bailey were each hit twice to reach base.
Stone picked up the win on the mound, going four innings and giving up one run on five hits while striking out four.
Louisville 21, Noxapater 11
The Wildcats used a pair of big innings and took a five-inning, run-rule win over the Tigers on Tuesday.
The score was tied 1-1 after the second inning when Louisville erupted for seven runs in the top of the third and 11 in the top of the fourth. Noxapater scored four in the bottom of the fourth and six in the sixth.
Noxapater had six hits on the contest and took advantage of 13 walks by Louisville. Hunter Johnson was the only multiple hitter, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Lane Bailey, Nick Stone and Chevy Welborn each walked twice and scored two runs. Riley Jones also had a single, walk and scored twice.
Sebastopol 13, Noxapater 3
The Bobcats took advantage of five errors by the Tigers and took a five-inning, run-rule win.
Noxapater only had three hits in the contest as Hunter Johnson drove in two runs with a single. Riley Jones singled and scored while Ethan Easley had the other single. Dalton Keen also had an RBI.
