While both the Nanih Waiya and Louisville baseball teams took part in a jamboree at Nanih Waiya last week, the season gets started for real for NW, LHS and Noxapater this week on both the baseball and softball diamonds.
Nanih Waiya beat Louisville 9-0 and fell to Choctaw County 4-1 in shortened games hosted by the Warriors on Saturday, Choctaw County took a 3-0 win over the Wildcats.
With weather slowing down the action on Monday and Tuesday, play will begin to head up on Thursday, weather permitting.
Nanih Waiya moved the Winston County Softball Classic from Tuesday to Thursday due to weather concerns. The action begins a 3 p.m. with Noxapater taking on the Lady Warriors, while Noxapater and Louisville tangle at 5 p.m. and Nanih Waiya faces Louisville at 7 p.m. All three games count on the teams’ won-loss records.
Noxapater will be hosting the baseball version of the Winston County Classic on Thursday as Louisville and NW play at 4 p.m. followed by LHS and Noxapater at 6.
The Louisville Lady Wildcats are set to host French Camp in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
