After this weekend's conference championship games, we will now see how the NFC champion Los Angeles Rams face off against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII.
The Rams defeated the homestanding New Orleans Saints in an overtime thriller. The game came down to the wire with a 57-yard field goal to win the game. Jared Goff had a good game and became the youngest quarterback to win the NFC championship.
The Saints lost in heartbreaking fashion just like the previous year, thanks to the “Minnesota Miracle”. This time it was a missed pass interference call, that would have increased the Saints' chances tremendously.
The game started off sort of slow for both teams but the Saints took a 13-0 lead In the end of the first quarter. The Rams were able to rally back and win the game 26-23 to send the Rams to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2000. Sean Mcvay will be the youngest coach to ever coach in the Super Bowl. The Rams had an impressive season and the players and coaching staff earned the opportunity for a Lombardi Trophy.
The AFC championship game was also an overtime thriller.
Patrick Mahomes had yet another amazing game leading the Chiefs all the way to where they are. New England's Tom Brady also had a good game as he is very used to the AFC championship as he never misses it. Both quarterbacks did a great job distributing the ball in a great game to watch. Turnovers were a great factor in this game as they shaped into touchdowns. In overtime Brady led his team down the field to score and win the game. The Patriots are back in the Super Bowl for the third straight year.
The Patriots and Rams will be a great Super Bowl matchup and will be one to remember. I think the Rams will win the game 36-31, claiming their first Super Bowl title since 2000.
