East Webster will face another tough test on the football field Friday night as the Wolverines travel to East Union to take on the 3-1 Urchins.
After opening up with a 40-7 loss to New Albany, East Union beat Myrtle 61-19, Ashland 53-0 and Tishomingo County 48-10.
“They are the defending division champions,” EW head coach Ron Price said. “East Union and East Webster have battled in baseball and basketball for years. This is our first competition in football. We will travel up there and are coming off a big win. I hope out team takes steps in the right direction and will stay focused. East Union is a good football team and it’s going to be a 48-minute contest. I hope we can take the next step and not just be happy that we won last week.”

EUPORA FACES TOUGH HOUSTON
The football schedule doesn’t get any easier for Eupora as the Eagles travel to undefeated Houston on Friday.
The Hilltoppers are 4-0 on the season with wins over Pontotoc (26-0), Calhoun City (33-7), New Hope (32-28) and Shannon (18-14).
“They are another undefeated team,” EHS head coach Stephen Edwards said. “They have beat Shannon and New Hope. Last year, they led 3A in rushing yards and do a good job of running the football. We will have our hands full again. If we will stay together, we will be OK. We just have to stay together until we get to district play.”
