The Noxapater Tigers won two of four games this past week, all in division play.
The Tigers swept a doubleheader from McAdams, winning 19-0 and 16-3. The Tigers then lost 15-1 and 12-2 to Ethel to go 2-2 on the week.
Noxapater, now 6-8, was scheduled to return to action this week as they take on French Camp in a two-game series. They will host the Panthers on Tuesday and travel to French Camp on Friday. On Saturday, they will travel to Scott Central in a 1 p.m. contest.
Noxapater 16, McAdams 3
The Tigers didn’t allow a hit as they took a run-rule win over the Bulldogs on Monday to finish off the doubleheader sweep.
Noxapater scored one in the first, four in the second and third and seven in the fourth.
The Tigers had six hits, seven walks and took advantage of four errors and six hit batters. James Kugle was 2-for-3 and scored two runs while Nick Stone doubled and drove in three runs. Lane Bailey, Jace McAdory, Hunter Johnson, Landon Bailey and Ethan Easley each score two runs apiece. Johnson also had two RBIs while Landon Bailey had a double.
Lane Bailey pitched one inning and struck out one while Kugle pitched the last 2 1/3 innings and struck out five.
Noxapater 19, McAdams 0
The Tigers needed just two innings to take a run-rule win over the Bulldogs in the first game of a doubleheader on Monday.
The Tigers scored 10 runs in the first and nine in the second.
Noxapater had nine hits and seven hit batters. Landon Bailey was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Hunter Johnson singled, scored two runs and had three RBIs. Nick Stone, Dalton Keen and Zach Kimbriel each had two RBIs. Lane Bailey scored three runs while Chevy Welborn, James Kugle, Kimbriel and Riley Jones each scored two runs apiece.
Nick Stone got the start and pitched 1 2/3 innings and struck out five while Kugle pitched 1/3 of an inning and struck out one.
Ethel 12, Noxapater 2
Ethel used a big fifth inning to close out a run-rule victory over Noxapater on Friday.
Ethel scored three in the first and third and finished with six in the fifth. Noxapater scored two in the fourth for their runs.
Noxapater had six hits but committed five errors and issued eight walks.
Nike Stone was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI to lead Noxapater. Landon Bailey also had a double while Hunter Johnson singled and scored a run. Riley Jones and Ethan Easley also singled.
Ethel 15, Noxapater 1
Noxapater had just two hits as Ethel scored in every inning to take a run-rule victory.
Ethel scored two in the first and second, five in the third and six in the fourth. Noxapater scored its one run in the fourth.
The Tigers had two hits but committed nine errors. Landon Bailey singled and scored while Hunter Johnson had Noxapater’s other single.
