The Noxapater Tigers got the baseball season kicked off last week under first-year coach Zach Kemp with a pair of losses, falling 15-10 to Puckett and 13-3 to Louisville.
Noxapater was scheduled to play Leake County at home today and host Louisville on Tuesday. On Friday, the Tigers will host Leake County and then travel to Sebastopol on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.

Both teams scored three runs in the first inning before Puckett took the lead with six runs in the second. Both teams scored two in the third to give Puckett an 11-5 lead after the third. Noxapater cut the deficit to 11-8 with three in the fourth and added single runs in the fifth and seventh.
Noxapater had 10 hits in the contest, led by Lane Bailey who was 3-for-3 on the day with four runs scored and four RBIs. Landon Bailey was 2-for-4 with a double while Dalton Keen was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Chevy Welborn and Zach Kimbriel each had two RBIs while Nick Stone had two RBIs, two walks and two runs scored.
Hunter Johnson got the start and struggled on the mound as he gave up eight runs on one hit and seven walks. Stone pithed the next 3 2/3 innings and gave up six runs on eight hits and struck out five. Lane Bailey pitched the last two innings and gave up one run on three hits.

The Wildcats scored in every inning as they run-ruled the Tigers in five innings.
Noxapater scored two runs in the first before Louisville answered with five run in the bottom of the frame. The Wildcats added single runs in the second and fourth innings and three runs in the third and fifth. Noxapater scored its other run in the fifth.
Noxapater had five hits in the contest, led by Dalton Keen who was 2-for-3 with thee RBIs. Hunter Johnson had a single, walked twice and scored while Zach Kimbriel and Chevy Welborn also had singles. Landon Bailey also scored twice and had two stolen bases.
Landon Bailey got the start and pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up nine runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four. Lane Bailey pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on one hit. Nick Stone faced two batters and gave up one run on one hit and one walk.
Lady Tigers set to host LHS Lady Wildcats
The Noxapater Lady Tigers finally got on the field but ended up losing a 14-2 contest to Class 5A West Point last Tuesday.
Noxapater was scheduled to play rival Nanih Waiya on Monday but the game was postponed due to rain. The next scheduled action is a road game at Ethel on Thursday and a home match with Louisville on Friday before taking off for spring break.
The Lady Wave broke open a close game with nine runs in the fifth inning in the season opener for the Lady Tigers on Tuesday.
West Point led 2-1 after the first inning and added one in the third and two in the fourth to lead 5-2 after four. But the Lady Wave exploded for nine runs in the fifth and won by the run rule.
Noxapater had five hits but committed six errors on defense. Nona Wilkes andLaney Boatner each singled and scored while Marley Joiner had a single and drove in a run. Kaitlyn Sanborn had a double while Raleigh Parker had Noxapater’s other hit.
Lexi Thomas got the start and pitched all five innings, giving up all 14 runs with only eight earned on 14 hits. She struck out 10 and walked three.
