The Nanih Waiya High Schoo boys and girls basketball team will look to begin the 2020 portion of the schedule better than 2019 entered.
The NW boys and girls teams both closed out the first half of the season with losses to East Webster and Union. The Warriors lost to East Webster 55-42 on Dec. 19 and 44-34 to Union on Dec. 20.
Tyquan McCully and Izaiaha Nicholson scored eight points each to lead NW agents East Webster, evil Trey McMullan scored seven.
Union held a 22-18 lead at the half against NW, but outscored the Warriors 11-9 in the third quarter and 11-7 in the fourth to take the 10-point win. Ethan Dailey led NW with eight points, while McMullan scored seven and Rico Moore, Hagan Halfacre, and Nicholson scored five each.
The Lady Warriors lost to East Webster 56-20 and Union 47-37.
Ambria Tubby scored 15 points for Nanih Waiya against East Webster, while she hit 14 to lead the Lady Warriors against Union.
