Louisville High School’s fast-pitch softball team dropped three contests last week to fall to 0-9 on the season.
The Lady Wildcats dropped a 12-0 decision to Class 4A powerhouse New Hope last Tuesday, then fell 17-0 to Starkville on Thursday. Friday, the Lady Wildcats got off to a quick start before homestanding Nanih Waiya roared back for a 17-7 victory.
This week, Louisville was to face off against Pickens (Ala.) Academy twice, facing the Lady Pirates Monday and Friday. On Tuesday, the Lady Cats were to host Kosciusko; and on Thursday, they’re set to host Noxubee County.
Next week, Louisville is scheduled to host Leake Central on Tuesday (April 3), go to French Camp Academy on Thursday (April 5) and go to Choctaw County on Friday (April 6).
Last Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats fell to New Hope when the Lady Trojans scored five times in the second inning to take control.
Lamyia Eiland and Marion Ming had the only base hits for Louisville, while Lymyia Fifer took the loss in the circle.
On Thursday, the Lady Wildcats fell to Starkville after the Lady Yellowjackets scored five times each in the first, third and fourth innings.
Adria Thames had a double for Louisville, while Eiland had a single and a couple of stolen bases. Callie Roach took the pitching loss.
Friday at Nanih Waiya, the Lady Wildcats scored five times in the top of the third inning to grab a 6-4 lead. They were still up 6-5 after three frames, but the host Lady Warriors scored three times each in the fourth and fifth frames and six times in the sixth.
Thames had one hit and two RBIs while Ming, Manyia Taylor and Erica Murry all had one hit and one RBI. Jimaia Jackson and Kameron Rogers both singled and scored; while Carlmeisha Hunt and Gabby Cistrunk scored one run apiece.
