After a pair of volleyball losses last week the Lady Tigers of Noxapater High School got back into the gym on Friday and left the practice refocused on the rest of the season.
“We had a really good practice,” said Noxapater head coach Pam Mills. “We are hopefully going to play our best volleyball of the year at the end of the season to help us heading into next year.
“We have got to end on a positive note so they can take everything they have learned and move forward,” she said. “We are just going to continue to build.”
Noxapater was set to visit Aberdeen on Monday of this week and Kemper County on Tuesday. The Lady Tigers host Nanih Waiya on Oct. 7, visit Amory on Oct. 8, and host Kosciusko for Senior Night on Oct. 15 to close out the season.
Noxapater opened last week with a 26-7, 25-10, 25-10 loss to Choctaw County. Nona Wilkes had three digs, two spikes, and two points in the match for the Lady Tigers, while Lindsey Mills had three spikes, and an ace.
Madison Riggs added a dig, spike, and point for Noxapater, while Mary Grace Mills had a save and Jenna Wilkes a dig.
Later in the week Noxapater suffered a 25-11, 27-25, 25-5 road loss to West Lowndes. Riggs had four points, three spikes, a block, and five Digs for the Lady Tigers. Mary Grace Mills served three aces and had a save and three points. Nona Wilkes contributed three spikes, two digs and three points for Noxapater.
Jenna Wilkes recorded three spikes and four points, while Lindsey Mills had three points and two spikes. Addy Webb had a dig and a save, while Mia Smith had a dig as well.
