The Noxapater Lady Tigers split a pair of games last week.
The Lady Tigers opened up the week by losing to Ethel on Monday and then beat Class 5A West Point on Tuesday.
Noxapater will return to action on Monday as they host French Camp. On Friday, Noxapater will host Columbus. The Lady Tigers will travel to Starkville on Monday and travel to Choctaw County on Thursday, Aug. 18.
Ethel 7, Noxapater 4
Ethel pulled away with five runs in the last three innings to take a three-run win over Noxapater on Monday.
The score was tied 1-1 at the end of the first while Ethel scored one in the top of the fourth and Noxapater scored two in the bottom of the frame to take 3-2 lead. But Ethel bounced back with two in the fifth and three in the sixth to lead 7-3 going into the seventh where Noxapater added a final run.
Noxapater had five hits, led by Morgan Duran who was 2-for-3 while Princess Welch doubled and had two RBIs. Marley Joiner and Raleigh Parker each singled and scored a run.
Lexi Thomas started in the circle and pitched all seven innings, giving up seven runs on 10 hits and five walks while striking out six.
Noxapater 7, West Point 1
The Lady Tigers got a complete-game effort from Morgan Duran and took a six-run win over Class 5A West Point on Tuesday.
West Point led 1-0 after three innings before Noxapater scored one in the fourth, two in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Noxapater outhit West Point 11-2 as Duran was 3-for-4 at the plate. Nona Wilkes was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs while Kaitlyn Sanborn was 2-for-4 with a double. Madison Riggs doubled and scored two runs while Princess Welch singled and drove in a run.
Duran was solid in the circle, going all six innings and giving up one run o two hits and five walks while striking out 11.
