Choctaw County volleyball is 10-0 in Region 4 for Class I, following 3-0 victories over Noxapater and Nanih Waiya.
But the Lady Chargers still have not clinched a playoff spot. That's because the remaining two region matches are against the second and third place teams, Amory and Aberdeen.
Choctaw County defeated Noxapater 25-7, 25-10, 25-10 and Nanih Waiya 25-10, 25-13, 25-12.
“Girls took care of business this week and played very well,” said coach Miranda Worrell. “They seem to be clicking pretty good and we just need to tweak a few things.”
Addie Stacy and LaGenesis Johnson both had four kills in the Noxapater match. Caden Miles had 12 assists.
Against Nanih Waiya, Leah Hammons had six kills and Stacy had five. Miles had 14 assists and Veronica Molina led the team in service receptions with 11.
Aberdeen is 7-1 in region play and Amory 6-2, with four region games left for both. Choctaw County beat both by 3-1 scores earlier.
The Lady Chargers can clinch a playoff spot with a home victory over Amory Thursday. Choctaw County will play at Aberdeen next Tuesday.
The top two teams in the region qualify for the MHSAA playoffs scheduled to begin October 17, with the winner receiving home court in the opening round.
Lady Eagles play seven matches
Grace Christian volleyball had a busy week with seven matches, including five last Saturday in a tournament at Oxford High School. The Lady Eagles had 3-0 victories over Winston Academy and Nanih Waiya before losing four of five in the tournament.
Grace Christian defeated Winston Academy 25-15, 25-13, 25-9 and Nanih Waiya 25-13, 25-12, 25-23.

In the Nanih Waiya match, Kelly had 10 kills and Caroline Robbins had seven. Phillips had 18 service points and six aces, Brownlee 16 assists and Crowder 11 service receptions and three digs.
The one victory at Oxford came against Greenville 25-15, 25-7. The Lady Eagles were defeated by Oxford 2-0, Germantown 2-0, Water Valley 2-0, and Macon Road Baptist of Tennessee 2-1.
“I think a lot of it was mental, going against bigger schools,” said coach Jamey Willers. “We made a lot of mistakes.”
The Lady Eagles played Pickens Academy of Alabama Tuesday and have road match with North River Christian of Alabama Thursday.
