Grace Christian volleyball won three matches last week, improving to 14-5-1. The Lady Eagles defeated Amory Christian 25-13, 19-25, 15-13, Noxapater 25-6, 25-8, 25-6 and Regents School of Oxford 25-13, 25-14.
“We had a good week,” said coach Jamey Willers.
Jasmine Kelly led the Lady Eagles against Amory Christian with eight service points, six kills and one block. Lenleigh Dobbs had seven service points, Anna Gillis three aces and Annabelle Crowder eight assists.
Against Noxapater, Carley Peterson had 11 service points and seven kills, with no errors. Kiara Nash had 10 service points and Bella Brownlee four assists.
Team leaders in the Regents match were Gillis with seven service points, Brownlee with five assists and Peterson with four kills. Anna Howell and Maggie Phillips had three kills each.
Grace Christian was set to play Winston Academy Monday and Nanih Waiya Tuesday and will compete in a tournament at Oxford High School Saturday. Opponents in tournament pool play will be Jackson Academy and Pontotoc. JA is the state's top ranked team according to the website MaxPreps, with a 32-3 record.
