The East Webster Lady Wolverines had little trouble in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs last week, pounding Leland 15-0 in a pair of contests.
East Webster warmed up for the playoffs with an 8-4 win over Vardaman on Tuesday.
East Webster, now 14-7, advances to the second round of the Class 2A playoffs and will take on Philadelphia, the Division 4-4A champion. Game 1 of the series will be Tuesday at East Webster at 6 p.m. and the Lady Wolverines will travel to Philadelphia on Thursday for a 5 p.m. contest. Game 3 would follow Game 2 on Thursday.

Leland 0
The Lady Wolverines needed just three innings to dispatch of Leland in Game 1 of the series.
EW scored six runs in the first and third innings and three in the second.
EW had 12 hits in the contest as Curtlyn Blake was 3-for-3 with three runs scored while Josie Reed was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Mari-Todd Brown was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Coy Jennings and Emily Nason each had a single and drove in a run while Sydney Dewberry drove in three runs and Peyton Flora added two RBIs.
Liz Massey started in the circle and pitched all three innings, striking out all nine Leland batters she faced.

The Lady Wolverines allowed only one hit in a second 15-0 win over Leland to sweep the series.
East scored 11 runs in the first inning and four in the second.
East had 10 hits in the contest as Curtlyn blake was 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Jessica Davis was 2-for-2 with a double, triple and four RBIs. Coy Jennings was 2-for-2 while Whitney Winter scored three runs. Peyton Flora scored two runs and had two RBIs while Emma McKee also scored two runs.
Jessica Davis got the start and pitched all three innings, giving up one hit and one walks while striking out eight.

Vardaman 4
The Lady Wolverines used a five-run fourth inning and took a four-run win over Vardaman in a non-division contest on Tuesday.
After three scoreless innings, Vardaman scored one in the top of the fourth. East followed with five runs in the bottom of the fourth and three in the sixth to go up 8-1. Vardaman added three runs in the top of the seventh for the final margin.
East Webster had seven hits as Whitney Winter was 3-for-3 with two RBIs while Coy Jennings was also 3-for-3. Peyton Flora had a single, scored a run and had an RBI while Sydney Dewberry drew two walks.
Liz Massey pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on four hits while striking out two. Jessica Davis got the last two outs.
